We’re hoping these glimpses of sunshine last, but there’s still enough wet weather to make us want to curl up with evening books. We’ve got a new batch of books and blankets in that should do just the trick–including a couple of amazing books from artist Mark Ryden and fun quilts from Got Me in Stitches. For some reason we do a really good business in alarm clocks. Ours are modern and sleek and can plug into your MP3 player. I guess if you’ve had the same alarm clock since high school, it’s time to upgrade! We just got in a few from Lexon, they have aluminum cases and are the epitome of sleek. Rainy Day

It’s a rainy day (actually a rainy week) here in SF so it’s really nice to be in the store and look at our Valentine’s Day table. Lisa has done a great job of grabbing all the bright red and V-Day appropriate items that we have. You can take a peek at some of the merchandise here.

Today we restocked on pewter goodies and anatomical heart lockets from Swallow plus housewares from Sagaform. We also are pleased to carry Dwell Studio for Kids at the shop, and have picked out some great gift items for baby showers and toddler birthdays.

We’ve been getting a ton of new items in over the past week, many of them wood–like this new salt/peppermill from indie duo Teal and Gold, made from American black walnut (shown alongside their wooden wall art).

New Beginnings

Happy New Year! We just got a new shipment of 5 Year Diaries in all three colors. Even though you can start this diary any day of the year, we think it’s nice to kick off 2010 with this thoughtful book.

If you are not familiar with the concept - there is space to write a sentence or two for every day of the year. There are five spaces per day so you can compare, for example, what you were thinking about on January 6 of this year with next year. It is a lovely concept.
