Mollie Dash came by on Sunday to drop off more bracelets and keychains made with vintage hardware that are so completely rad, I have no words. I’ll get a photo of the jewelry up soon, I promise.

Over here at RDSF we love Kelly Lynn Jones. She is our featured artist this month in our gallery. In fact, you can purchase her amazing work here in a special section on our website. Last night, Kelly arrived in Vermont for a residency. We are so excited to see what she does while she is there amongst the fall leaves of New England.

Meanwhile, Rena and I are lucky because we get to look at her work everyday here in our shop

Kelly’s show, entitled Far from Main Street is a collection of paintings on wood panels depicting various playful and unusual versions of “home.” These are not places Kelly has ever lived; they come, instead, from her rich inner world that is the basis for all of her amazing works. Hello, everyone. It’s me! Lisa! I am going to start posting on the Rare Device blog, and today is my first stab at it. I am sitting at the front counter of the SF store and Rena is in the back organizing things. Let’s see if I can do this without hollering at her to come up here and help me. The blog format is a different format than my personal blog’s format; I am going to see if I remember how to use it.

So I am going to be posting about all kinds of things regarding the store, just like Rena does. But I will also be your connection to all the art at RDSF. We’ve got monthly shows and a bunch of cool stuff coming in that will be part of our regular collection of merchandise.

Lots of love to Anh-Minh for including us in her fantastic article about boutique/gallery hybrids in the SF Chronicle this week. We are in the great company of Rose and Radish, Curiosity Shoppe, Park Life, Relish at Home, Candy Store, Doe, and Reform School.

Just arrived in SF – a new designer from Victoria, British Columbia – Suzanne of mimiBe sent us some of her luscious enameled copper bowls. They have candy colors on the inside and a dark, somewhat irregular finish on the outside.
