Visuals

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

Steven Heller reviewed a bunch of visual design books in this weekend’s NY Times and two of them are available at Rare Device. Both have to do with lettering and typography, but they are very different indeed. Come by and take a look at Letter by Letter, and Hall of Best Knowledge by Ray Fenwick. Lisa and I are typography fans and love bringing books like this to the store. On deck for next month will be a new title by San Franciscan Tauba Auerbach, published by Deitch Projects.

Speaking of visuals, Betsy Walton’s show ends tomorrow. Please come by in person if you have a chance! We’ll have the remaining works available on our website through the weekend.

And on an unrelated note – we’ve begun spring markdowns on clothing for men and women. We’ve started at 20% and will increase the discounts over the next few weeks. It is a great time to shop! We will work on reflecting the discounts online this coming week, too.

Japan

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

We have some new items in from Japan – we love Japanese designers for their love of materials, interest in history (of all eras) and quirky sense of humor. Three new products, including these sweet enameled keychain charms, are in the webshop, along with other new goods by young artists and designers from the US.

Patent Leather

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

We saw a lot of patent leather bags walkin’ by at Capsule last weekend, so we were quite happy that this bag from Lullabella has snappy patent leather trim.

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

We have just upgraded our website and shopping cart – if you see anything odd, please let us know by emailing us.

Also, we have just uploaded some new handbags by Lullabella and some Betsy Walton prints (just a tenth of the price of her original artwork)!

Cute Shopper Alert

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

The forecast said showers but it was a reallly beautiful day in San Francisco at Capsule. There were so many stylish folk around, we didn’t know where to begin, so we just focused on color, color, color, starting with Mai of Fashioni.st who was in shades of blue and green from head to toe – check out the baby blue shoes!
