Hey there! Happy Halloween from Lisa and Wilfredo! It’s slow in the shop today (boo hoo, rain!!) but we are having fun being Vampiress Salesgirl and her Pet Bat. Actually, I am having fun, but Wilfredo is not a fan of his bat wings. Right now he’s taking a much needed break from wearing them, in fact!

We also wanted to remind you that tomorrow is the trunk show for one of our favorite jewelry designers, Amy Tavern. Please come by the store to check out her goods!! She’ll be here in person showing them off. We’ll be serving some champagne and wine if you want to take a sip while you shop!

We have received a few copies of the monograph of Swoon, a young New York-based artist who does amazing paste-ups and now does huge gallery installations too. Rena has been privileged to see her work “in the wild” when she was living in Brooklyn. This is a very nice little book. See below.

It is finally feeling like fall around here. Jackets and scarves are starting to fly out the door! Just in time, we have a shipment of clothing from Industry and Me(ël) – mostly for the ladies but we got one great tee for men too. Here is a picture of a gorgeous silk tunic from Industry:

More bookish arrivals include the latest Lines & Shapes (all about Swedish designers) and paper goods from new company Studio Violet, which is a collaboration between indie faves (also Swedes) Camilla Engman and Elisabeth Dunker. These will be in the webshop very soon!

Reminder: Amy Tavern trunk show this Saturday, 12-4. Also, if you are in town, the Alternative Press Expo (APE) is this weekend too. All that plus Halloween – it’s going to be a fun time.

We ordered some FREE posters from Nikki McClure (sadly all 10,000 are gone) and promptly put one up in our window. Everyone at Rare Device is quite excited to vote this year. We hope you are too.

We still have a small stack of Vote cards by Set Editions. You get 25 little cards to pass out to friends and colleagues as a little, easy reminder. Or, you can put them under a windshield. Leave one in the vinyl folder you use to pay your restaurant check. Leave one in a library book. You get the picture.
