Mahar at Bizarre

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

I walked into the shop today and was so pleased to meet Robert Mahar of Mahar Drygoods, who is in town to participate in Bazaar Bizarre which is TOMORROW (Sunday) in Golden Gate Park. Lisa and I are going to attend to scout and to say hi to friends. You should go, too! Not only will there be many independent designers selling their wares, there will be music and workshops and cupcakes.

Afterward, ride the Haight street bus down to Laguna, then hop off and visit us at the shop. We have ornaments out on trees, plus lots of other goodies for gift giving.

A Small Funny Thing

Reading the Productdose blogpost about our Keyaki Wood Tea Cups made me smile.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Holiday News

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Please be advised that Rare Device will be CLOSED THURSDAY FOR THANKSGIVING. We’ll be overdosing on stuffing and pie, but we’ll see you Friday at noon.

Also – Matt Cipov’s fantastic show is up for two more weeks, so if you haven’t chosen your favorite yet, there is not much time left! They are original works and very affordable for holiday presents.

Finally, please visit us this weekend with your family. We’ll have hot cider to drink and lots of specials in the shop, for you and your loved ones.

Two Things

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

1. We have tubs of markdown clothing for men and women in the shop. They are 50% off the LOWEST price. This means that we are practically giving it away! Go on and shop, you deserve it. A lucky fellow got two shirts and a pair of pants for $40 today.

2. Amy Ruppel brought us new encaustic paintings and they are online, check them out! We have already sold a couple but there are definitely good ones left.plover.jpg

Vers 1.5R

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

It is not often that we want to snuggle with electronic devices but this one is so cute we can’t help ourselves. The Vers 1.5R is here and it is an iPod dock, alarm clock and AM/FM radio all wrapped up in a cherrywood package.

Also in today (and no less snuggly) are two new letterpress prints by Maxwell Loren Holyoke-Hirsch, our buddy who has his first major solo show going on right now at Anno Domini in San Jose. The prints are amazingly detailed, they are up in the webshop right now.
