We’ve long been fans of Marcel Dzama’s work. We first encountered it in 2002 at Elizabeth Oliveria Gallery and have been kicking ourselves ever since for not buying a piece. Sigh. If you feel the same way we do, you may want to get Even the Ghost of the Past instead – a large and luxurious book that also comes with a DVD of short films! This one will sell out so order now, it will be quite a treat for someone’s holiday gift this year.

Other new goodies in the shop include the 2010 ‘Cats Let Nothing Darken Their Roar’ calendar by Noa Bembibre, which will please any graphic designer or type fan on your list, new ceramics from Pigeon Toe, and new bags by Highway – perhaps a gift for yourself?

Another beautiful 2010 calendar came in today, this time from Camilla Engman of Sweden. This is the third year we’ve been able to sell them, I believe, and they are always beautiful. We’ll have them in the webshop soon!

We also got a second shipment of hats, gloves and scarves from Coal – the weather has finally gotten fall-like (at least in San Francisco) and they are going fast. They will be up on the site soon too!

The second pretty thing is a new book called the Pattern Sourcebook which is pretty much exactly that, and it includes a CD-ROM of some of the patterns which will make many people happy.

It is never too early to start stocking up on the holiday presents, especially since we get limited amounts at Rare Device and often popular items run out well before late December. We will have more holiday items in (like ornaments) but not for another month – rest assured you will not see them *too* early like the chain stores do

On a chilly day like today, whiskey doesn’t sound like such a bad idea We are restocked on some whiskey-scented items for guys from Portland General Store. This has been a big hit here, it is a soothing and handmade shave gel, balm and even eau de toilette if you want to go all the way. Finally back in stock.
