Staff Pick: It’s the bomb!

Sunday, August 21st, 2011

Hi there, Giselle here. Do people even say “It’s the bomb!” anymore? I know I used to back in college.

The bomb I’m referring to is the Face Bomb by Portland General Store. To be quite honest, I decided to buy this for the store because I wanted to try it for myself. Well, I wasn’t disappointed at all. After the first use, my skin felt so soft and smooth, I knew it was bound to be a new addiction. I not only use it for my face, it also works well on rough patches of skin. My daughter is crawling so I spend a lot of time on my knees these days and the Face Bomb helps smooth them out. Try it out!

Boneless: New Work by Doug Ross

Thursday, August 11th, 2011

The work that is currently in our gallery is now up on our website. The show is entitled: Boneless. Un-scientific Prints of Marine Molluscs, Medusae, etc. Work by Doug Ross.

Inspired by his recent certification as a SCUBA diver, Doug Ross’s latest show consists of limited edition silkscreen prints of the underwater world. The subject is specifically invertebrates, because their lack of a skeleton seems to have allowed nature the freedom to invent crazy creative forms, which makes the artist’s task of being inventive already partly achieved.
