Rare Device Store News

Changes

If you are not on the mailing list, you missed quite a newsletter yesterday! To recap:

I (Rena) am moving to California in August - but Rare Device in Brooklyn will remain. With the help of Erin at Sodafine, who will share the storefront with me, we will keep going and make sure there is a presence in Park Slope. Erin will be bringing her handmade and eco-friendly clothing in…this means that all clothing currently in the shop must go, and has been marked down 20-40%.

The online store will remain open (we may close for a week during the cross-country move) and as soon as we can find a storefront in San Francisco, we’ll open our second shop. All tips for available and shop spaces in the Bay Area are appreciated :)

That’s it for now - don’t forget to go to Renegade today and tomorrow, and see our table at the 7th Ave Street Fair tomorrow.

So glad your first choice West Coast city won out, and glad you found a solution for keeping the Brooklyn storefront - good excuse for trips back East, right?! I’m very happy to have been in the NYC store while you were still behind the counter : ) Can’t wait to see what exciting things a bi-coastal RD brings!

There’s a bit of an “area” in North Beach on upper Grant St. with some vacancies (corner of Grant and Green {I think} for one). Might be worth checking out. Welcome to SF!

Wow! I used to live across the street from Rare Device on 7th, and I’m so excited you’ll be moving to lovely SF! I miss Brooklyn still (esp Laila’s), but San Francisco is a wonderful city with lots of fabulous neighborhoods and shop opportunities. I shop (too) often and have plenty of space/locale tips - can’t wait to check out Rare Device west!

Can’t wait for you to arrive in SF! There are a couple of open storefronts in Bernal Heights on Cortland. Perfect mix of stores and eats. It’d be a great spot for you and you’d be great for the ‘hood.
