RDNY Update
Rena here – I wanted to announce that after much thought, I am closing the Brooklyn branch of Rare Device. I want to focus my time and energy on the San Francisco store, art gallery and webshop. We are having a big sale in Park Slope, starting tomorrow (May 3) to sell as much of the inventory (and store fixtures) as possible so I don’t have to ship it to California. Please come by between May 3 and May 18 and help me out! Here are the all-important sale details, and a map to the store is here.

The South Slope and I are so sad to see you go, Rena! Rare Device is a gem–congrats on creating such a beautiful enterprise, and good luck in San Francisco!

South Slope will be much the poorer for the departure of RD, but I will definitely be skulking in for the sale!! It was a wonderful enterprise that really raised the bar for the character of the surrounding area, a genuine expression of your creative and curatorial chops, and I salute you for having had the guts and hard work to pull it off (and to do so again back on that other coast). Don’t you dare stop back for a final RD visit without letting us say ‘bye!

i think it is bullshit that you’re closing the brooklyn store. i have shopped at this store many times and think not only is it sad but why the west coast. i see the appeal i mean sunshine all the time. but you really shouldn’t just loose touch with the place that helped you bring rare device to SF. sadly now i am reduced to buying online from you. no thanks.
